Course Goal:

To teach you solutions to a criminal attack and how to expand/contract and move as necessary while using your Pistol in a defensive posture.

Equipment Needed:

• Personal Protection Equipment
  • Ear protection (electronic is preferred)
  • Safety Glasses
  • A billed hat
  • A crew neck or button-up shirt. No V-necks or tank tops
  • Closed-toe shoes
• Any quality pistol (If you don’t have one, contact us).
• An OWB (outside the waistband) holster manufactured specifically for the weapon you own is recommended, but not necessary.
• Two or more magazines or speed loaders.
• At least Three hundred rounds of ammunition.
  Only new factory-manufactured ammunition is permitted in class.
• Appropriate clothing for the season, sunscreen, hat, bug spray, water, and snacks.
• A folding chair or stool, unless you’re okay with standing.

1. Introduction to Stress Proofing your weapon handling skills.
2. Review the elements of Combat Marksmanship.
3. An introduction to Expedient Sighting.
4. Countering the lethal threat in an expanding or contracting environment.
5. Introduction to the 360-degree attack.
6. Development of a personal training plan.

Course Duration

8 hours: On-site lecture/practical application.

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for this course; however, students should have a solid foundation in marksmanship and weapon handling fundamentals if success in this class is to be achieved.

Notes

This is an intermediate-level course developed to teach defensive firearms skills and tactics to the firearm owner who purchases a gun for protection outside the home.
